Having proper use of your emergency brake in your MINI is a must. This brake cable over time can develop rust inside the plastic boot rubber and corrode the cable making it stick in place. If your emergency brake seems to stick and lock your rear brake, this might be your problem. Replace both sides and ensure proper brake release.
