If you have camshaft timing fault codes, you may be in need of one of these. The most common problem with these happens when the timing chain tensioner fails and the chain breaks. This can cause valve damage and damage to the teeth on the gear of the adjuster unit. If your chain breaks, make sure to check the gear on the back of the adjuster. If any of the teeth are broken, you’ll need to replace it.

It is recommended that you replace the bolt as well. (ES280412)

* This part is designed for the FSI engine only. This can easily be found on the engine cover of your 2.0T VW/Audi. It will clearly be stamped FSI (not TFSI).
