The auxiliary fan switch reads the temperature of the coolant going into the radiator in order to determine when and at what speed the auxiliary fan should turn on. If faulty the fan will commonly stay on no matter what temperature the engine has reached. Replace the faulty sensor in your vehicle to keep your cooling system efficient.
