Ball Joint – Right

Ball joints are a ball-and-socket joint used to connect suspension and steering components. Ball joints also allow steering knuckles to pivot from side to side as the wheels are turned.

Worn ball joints are dangerous and often noisy. They should be inspected as part of a regular maintenance schedule, and replaced, as needed. Catastrophic ball joint failure results in loss of steering.
