Few things can be more frightening than having a brake hose blow out during braking. You will lose braking power almost instantly, dramatically increasing stopping distance, and leave you with a soft, spongy brake pedal that travels all the way to the floor.

Brake hoses need to be inspected regularly for cracking, chaffing, dry-rot or leaking, and if any of these symptoms are present, the brake hose must be replaced. A good time to inspect and replace brake hoses is during regular brake service.
