This flange is located on the right side of the vehicle above the fuel pump and contains the fuel pressure regulator. When a specific pressure is reached, the regulator releases excess pressure to the return system so it can be reused. A faulty fuel pressure regulator can cause low fuel pressure, high fuel pressure, rich running condition or a delay of building up pressure.
