The PCV system removes engine blow-by gases and flushes the crankcase with fresh air. PCV system problems result in numerous and sometimes severe problems, including: multiple oil leaks, contamination of multiple sensors and catalytic converters, deposit build-up in the air intake passages, and failed emissions tests. Motorists who block or otherwise disable the PCV system also face premature contamination of crankcase lube oil and serious engine damage.
