A/C Orifice Tube

The orifice tube, or restrictor valve, is located within the A/C lines and causes the refrigerant to spray out to the evaporator, aiding the transition from a low pressure liquid to a low pressure gas. The orifice tube also features a filter so that foreign particles cannot enter the evaporator and cause a clog or damage. It is recommended to replace this piece any time the A/C system is opened to avoid tearing of the filter, and to ensure that your vehicle's interior is being cooled down efficiently.

This orifice tube is located between the front and rear lines that connect the condenser to the evaporator.
