Brake hoses are the flexible sections of the brake hydraulic system. Usually located in areas where the suspension system requires that the brake lines flex in and move in harmony with the suspension linkage, brake hoses are an essential component of the braking system. Hanging or dragging brake calipers can sometimes be a result of an internally collapsed brake hose. In this case, brake pressure is able to push through to the caliper but is unable to return freely in the collapsing line. Because these hoses are exposed to some of the harshest conditions your vehicle is exposed to, it is important to inspect these parts at regular service intervals and replace lines that show signs of wear, cracks or other imperfections.
