Description
Without a properly functioning cooling system, your engine will overheat which can damage the engine. One of the components in the cooling system that needs to be kept in proper working order is the fan switch.
The fan switch measures coolant temperature, and sends that information to the computer. When the coolant temperature gets high enough, the computer will turn the fan on, pulling fresh air through the radiator and cooling the engine. Unfortunately, the fan switch does not last forever, and it may fail without warning, which can leave you on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck, and can lead to very expensive repairs.
If you are replacing your fan switch, now would be the perfect time to inspect any other components in your vehicles' cooling system, and replace any that are starting to show their age. Euromotiv carries a full line of cooling system components and coolant for your Mercedes-Benz to help you keep its' cooling system working as well as it did when it was new.
