The clock spring, or cancellation ring, maintains an electrical connection for the horn, airbag and other electrical devices while the steering wheel is turning. The clock spring is located behind the steering wheel on the steering column. Common symptoms of a failed clock spring include loss of horn, ESP faults, or airbag resistance faults.
