Description
The clutch master cylinder is the first connection between the pedal and the rest of your clutch hydraulic system. It moves hydraulic fluid through the line and to the slave cylinder where your clutch pack is depressed. Prone to leaks, replacing a faulty unit is the easiest way to restore clutch function.
Due to how corrosive brake/hydraulic fluid is, it's common for delicate rubber seals in the master cylinder to wear out. When this happens, the proper force is not applied to the fluid when the clutch is depressed and some fluid may leak past seals. Replace your clutch master cylinder to make shifting easier in your vehicle.
When replacing this part, the lines will need to be bled and some brake fluid may be lost. Be sure to pick up some spare fluid to restore your clutch performance.
