Description
There are several pieces in the convertible top system on your Mercedes-Benz that go overlooked, yet when replaced can make all of the difference in the world.
One such part is the convertible top lock pads. These pads act as sealing grommets around the convertible top lock assemblies in the upper windshield trim. Since they are made of soft plastic, over they years they will become brittle and crack.
If your top lock pads have failed, you may notice symptoms such as a loose feeling when securing the convertible top, or one of the side windows snagging on the roof trim when closing the doors.
Replacing the top lock pads is easy, and will remedy the above maladies while reducing road noise, and leading to a more snug and secure feeling when closing the convertible top.
