Description

The bypass pipe, commonly called the “crack pipe”, is the bypass pipe for hot coolant that runs from the back of the water pump to the thermostat housing. Located deep on the front of the engine, this pipe often breaks in as few as 50,000 miles as a result of contact with hot coolant. Replace it to fix your coolant leak.

Because VW/Audi made so many coolant piping pieces of hard plastic, it is common for these parts to break over the years. After thousands of miles and many years of hot coolant contact, it's easy for these parts to degrade and become brittle. Replace those problem areas before problems occur with a replacement from Euromotiv.

Because so many parts in the coolant system is made of this plastic, it's best to replace all of those components if one fails. This assures that all potential coolant leaks are taken care of at the same time. Preventative maintenance against coolant system failure and potential engine damage from overheating.
