A turbocharger system can be extremely beneficial for efficiency and fun factors while driving your BMW, the blow off valve releases the pressure which is the driving force behind a turbocharging system. The turbo builds boost pressure and when you let off the gas this blow off valve releases the pent up pressure and returns your vehicle to normal vaccuum pressure. If the BOV isn't functioning properly your engine will not only perform funny, but BOV failure can cause catastrophic engine failures.
