Another key element in developing this under-drive pulley system was the task of manufacturing a DPK, a double side belt for the air conditioner. When you alter the crankshaft main pulley size, it also influences the size of the A/C belt. As of late production 2007, BMW changed over the belt configuration to a double sided groove belt on the E9X M3.
