This sensor detects valve position and valve lift adjusted by the valvetronic motor. When the sensor fails, your intake valve does not fully lift causing poor cold-start issues and rough idle. This could also cause the vehicle to go into limp mode.

Requires replacement of valve cover gasket when replacing sensor.
