If the exhaust system on your Mercedes-Benz is clunking around or rattling, the cause may be as simple as a failed exhaust hanger.
Exhaust hangers are made of rubber, however, due to their location under the vehicle, holding the exhaust system, they are exposed to heat and the elements, causing them to weaken and break.
If one or more of your exhaust hangers has broken, they must be replace to prevent damage to the exhaust system caused by the weight of the exhaust system being unsupported.
