Description
The air conditioning expansion valve is used to control the amount of refrigerant that is entering the evaporator. If the valve fails, it can cause evaporator flooding, resulting in poor air conditioning performance and possible damage to the compressor.
If your expansion valve is failing, replace it prior to additional damage being done. This is the perfect replacement for damaged or worn valves when the A/C system is not working at peak efficiency.
When working with the A/C system, it is always recommended that a professional performs maintenance. It is illegal to vent refrigerant into the atmosphere, so go to a local shop to have your refrigerant drained properly before replacing A/C components.
