Flywheel

Flywheels bolt to the crankshaft and transmit engine power to the transmission through the clutch assembly. They store energy and damp crankshaft power pulses. The flywheel clutch disc contact surface should be carefully inspected during a clutch overhaul for signs of severe wear, scoring, or heat cracking, and replaced as needed, based on manufacturer recommendations.
