Description
This high pressure pump kit is used for your direct-injected vehicle. They will usually fail when the camshaft follower wears through and destroys the pump shaft/plunger or the pump itself gets to a point where it cannot put out the proper pressure after it has aged. When replacing the pump, make sure to also replace the cam follower as this is most likely worn or destroyed as well.
Midway through the B7 chassis 2.0T model, Audi updated their fuel line setup from a banjo bolt style fitting/connection point to an on-pump barbed fitting. Moving to a barbed style fitting solved some leaking issues and overall eased the installation and cam follower service process. However, completely swapping your existing banjo fuel line setup to a barbed factory line is somewhat pricey. This kit includes the necessary adapter fitting to use your existing banjo style fuel line on the new style pump. In this case, the barbed fitting will be removed and the banjo adapter will be installed in its place.
Also included in this kit for the additional unused port on the fuel pump is a pressure bleeder valve and cap.
* This part is designed for the FSI engine only. This can easily be found on the engine cover of your 2.0T VW/Audi. It will clearly be stamped FSI (not TFSI).
