This system works by using small wiper assemblies along with washer fluid jets located on the headlamps, and even though it is a fairly simple system, that does not mean that it is immune to failure.
One part that can fail in this system are the headlamp wiper motors. Since they are constantly exposed to the elements, as well as being bombarded with road debris, damage to the headlamp wiper motors can easily lead to failure.
