Description
Steering racks are a component in rack-and-pinion steering controls. They are the metal part on which gears, or pinions, slide back and forth, determining how far a corresponding wheel turns. The bushings in these systems are designed to keep the rack from banging around in the clamps that hold it to the engine cross member.
The stock mounts are soft rubber, which eliminates any noise or vibration, but flexes under load, which means not all the force it produces turns your wheels. Hardened bushings, like these from Whiteline, help eliminate this flex.
Whiteline utilizes the latest polyurethane technology to provide bushings with the combined physical advantages of a solid bushing such as strength & geometry retention with the extreme flexibility characteristics of rubber. Majority of the bushings supplied feature internal bore knurling to maximize grease retention and eliminate squeaking.
