Description
The engine in your Mercedes-Benz uses a cartridge style oil filter and because of this, an oil filter housing is required.
This oil filter housing is bolted to the side of the crankcase and has passages machined into it for the oil to flow. This part is quite robust, however it is not immune to failure. The oil filter housing can crack, and when it does your engine will develop oil leaks. If this happens, the oil filter housing must be replaced immediately in order to keep your engine lubrication system functional.
This oil filter housing includes a new gasket.
