The secondary air injection system in your vehicle might sound like it a power adding device, but actually, it injects air into the exhaust stream to allow for a fuller combustion of gases. Basically, it’s an emission control unit.
This hose attaches to the secondary air injection pump and is easily damaged or broken. While the hose doesn’t take any high pressure, a leak or a crack can allow air to escape, and may cause your check engine light to come on.
