Why 3" Inch piping diameter?
After much research, calculations, testing, and development JHM found that based on the 4.0T engine's demands, 3" piping diameter is the largest piping diameter that can fit in order to optimize the vehicle's performance. With smaller than 3" exhaust you end up choking off the 4.0T's Turbos not allowing enough exhaust flow.

Performance:
You can expect an increase in turbo performance with less turbo-lag and more top-end power. Increases may vary depending on downpipe configuration and supporting hardware. We recommend the JHM 3" 4.0T Downpipes to be paired with this system to optimize exhaust flow and performance gains.
