Neutral Saftey Switch

Your BMW is equipped with a safety device that prevents your vehicle from being started in gear. The down side to this is that if your safety switch fails, you may be left without the ability to start the vehicle.

A usual easy way to tell if your neutral safety switch is bad, if you are in park and the vehicle won't crank at all, put it in neutral. If your vehicle starts in neutral, it's time to replace this switch now before it doesn't start at all.
