Description
The oil level sensor in the side of the oil pan is an important part of the lubrication system on your engine, as it will illuminate a warning lamp on the instrument cluster should your engine become low on oil. Since this sensor is in the side of the oil pan, the bore for this sensor must be sealed with an o-ring to prevent leaks.
Over time, this o-ring will become brittle and crack due to its constant exposure to heat and engine oil, and once it does, your engine will start leaking oil.
If your engine is leaking oil due to a failed oil level sensor o-ring, replace it today with a brand new o-ring from Euromotiv. The perfect time to replace this o-ring is during an oil change, as the crankcase will have to be drained in order to remove the oil level sensor, so be sure you have everything you need to get the job done.
