Description
The pick-up tube is attached to the oil pump at the bottom of the engine and sits in the oil pan to allow the oil pump to draw in oil and send it through the engine. Over time, the screens on the pick-up tubes can become clogged from debris and contaminants in the engine, sometimes ruining the pick-up completely. It is recommended that this be replaced with the oil pump, to avoid possible damage to the new pump from a clogged pick-up tube.
