Anywhere two parts that have fluid, fuel or oil traveling through them come together on your vehicle, the use of a seal is required to prevent that fluid from leaking out between the seam.

That is where this gasket comes in. This gasket seals the gap between the two components, preventing leaks. Unfortunately, this gasket will break down over the years, due to its constant exposure to heat and chemicals, beginning to leak.
