Power Steering Pressure Hose

Has your Mercedes-Benz S-Class developed a power steering fluid leak? The cause could be as simple as a worn power steering hose.

This is the high-pressure power steering hose that runs from the power steering pump to the power steering gearbox. Over the years, the rubber that makes up this hose can become brittle and begin to leak, or the metal ends can rust causing leaks. Either way, the hose must be replaced when it shows signs of failure.

If you are replacing this power steering hose, be sure you have enough power steering fluid to top off the system when you are done, as some fluid will be lost when the hose is removed.
