Description
Part of what makes your Mercedes-Benz so wonderful to drive is it expertly engineered, precision crafted suspension system. There are many components that make up the suspension system, although during service, one part often gets overlooked.
The coil springs are that part. Even though these springs are incredibly strong and durable, that does not mean that they are immune to wear. Over time, the constant jounce and rebound cycles brought about by everyday driving will take their toll on the coil springs.
Once these springs wear out, the suspension will begin to sag, and you will lose that precise feeling on the road that you have grown accustom to. Along with these symptoms, worn coil springs will also put increased stress on other suspension components, leading to more frequent repairs.
If you are working on your vehicles suspension, be sure to check out the condition of your coil springs and replace them if they are starting to show their age.
Be sure to order the correct springs for your car. The coil springs on your Mercedes-Benz have paint marks on them. Be sure to order the springs with the same paint marks as your current springs to assure correct ride height and spring stiffness.
