The sunroof drain tube grommet allows the drain tube to connect securely and provide an outlet for the water to drain out of. If the grommet is ripped it could allow water into the interior cabin, which can not only stain fabric, but create constant wet spots. Replace the damaged grommet to keep your interior dry.
