Rear Parking Brake Cable

Over the years, due to their exposure to the elements, parking brake cables can corrode, causing them to bind, or snap when they are used. If your parking brake cables have seen better days, the only solution is to replace them.

This parking brake cable attaches to the rear section of the main cable to activate the parking brake on either the left or the right wheel. There are two of these cables on your vehicle, and if one fails, chances are that the other is not far behind, so it is recommended that both be replaced at the same time.

If you are replacing your parking brake cables, now would be the perfect time to inspect and replace any other components in your braking system that are starting to show their age, such as your parking brake shoes, or rotors and pads.
