Description
The window regulator is a device that raises and lowers the side windows in your vehicle. As your vehicle begins to age, the components that work on a consistent basis may begin to malfunction. Typically, the cable may lose the ability to hold the window or may fray and snap, one of the pulleys may crack, or the plastic splines on the window motor may strip the drive wheel on the regulator. Any one of these issues result in the loss of function and convenience that power windows were designed to provide
Common symptoms of a broken window regulator are:
- A popping noise when attempting to roll the window up or down
- Inability to roll the window up or down completely when the button is depressed, ensure window motor is receiving signal and power.
- The window moves up or down, but may be tilted or off alignment completely
