Steering Angle Sensor

This steering angle sensor, sometimes called a lock angle sensor, is one of the sensors the computer uses for traction/stability control.

This steering angle sensor tells the ABS and traction control modules the exact degree of angle the steering wheel is at. If the vehicle is out of control, the computer will intervene with traction/stability control to try and stabilize the vehicle.

If this steering angle sensor fails, you may be presented with several illuminated warning lights on your instrument cluster, failure of the traction control or ABS.
