Description
The sway bar, also known as the anti-roll bar or stabilizer bar is one of those components in the suspension that not many people think about. The sway bar is used to reduce body roll over irregular roads or during fast cornering. It does this by connecting opposite (left and right) wheels together.
The sway bar is attached to the vehicle chassis using brackets, however, due to all of the forces that can be exerted on these brackets, they have a tendency to fail.
If your sway bar brackets have failed they must be replaced in order to keep your suspension functioning properly. If you are replacing your sway bar brackets, now would be the perfect time to replace your sway bar bushings as well.
