Description

The thermostat controls the flow of coolant into your engine based on temperature. When the engine is started, the thermostat remains closed to accelerate the warm up process. After reaching operating temperature, it opens up to allow the coolant through to the engine block. If your vehicle is overheating but not blowing warm air from the heater, the problem could be a thermostat that is stuck closed. On the other hand, if the engine is not reaching operating temperature, the thermostat could be stuck open.

Restore efficiency to your cooling system by replacing your faulty thermostat. During your thermostat change, coolant loss is inevitable. Be sure to browse the fluid section to get the proper replacement fluid sent directly to your door. Also, be sure to check and order a new thermostat housing, a commonly broken or warped component that's easily damaged during removal.

This thermostat does include the sealing o-ring.
