Description
Keeping tension on your timing chain is imperative for keeping the camshafts turning properly. The chain runs against this tensioner and keeps the chains tight against the camshaft sprockets and crankshaft. If the chain develops poor tension, the proper timing set can skip a tooth. This could potentially result in catastrophic damage and possible ruining the engine. Replace the tensioner at the first sign of wear to prevent sever engine damage.
This is the main timing chain tensioner located between the left and right idle gears.
