Description
The transmission in your Mercedes-Benz must be mounted in such a way that it resists large movements, yet is able to compensate for driveline flex during acceleration. All of this movement and vibration must also be isolated from the vehicles chassis to prevent your drive from being spoiled.
This is accomplished through the use of a specially designed transmission mount. This mount secures the transmission to the crossmember, and through the use of hard rubber and, in some applications, hydraulic fluids, is able to keep the transmission in place while not transferring any of the vibration or movement into the cabin.
Just like any part on your car though, the transmission mount can wear out, and once it does, it must be replaced in order to keep your car functioning as it should.
Symptoms of a worn transmission mount may include clunking or knocking noises coming from the underside of the car, and vibration in the cabin, especially during acceleration or idling.
If you think your transmission mount has failed, replace it today with a quality part from Euromotiv and keep your Mercedes-Benz as smooth and quiet inside as it was the day you bought it.
