These studs are used to mount the turbochargers to the exhaust manifolds (3 studs per side) and the catalytic converters to the turbochargers (4 studs per side). These can get corroded, resulting in damaged threads, so it's always a good idea to have extras on hand when doing exhaust/turbocharger work.
