Description
Located in the front strut mounts, the strut bearing is the pivot point for strut shaft rotation when the front wheels are steered left and right. Worn or binding strut bearings cause hard or imprecise steering, and may result in suspension noise, especially when the car is driven over bumps or holes.
Strut bearings should be replaced when worn or damaged, or with a new strut mount when installing new strut inserts.
