Description
If there is a leak you aren't aware of, your oil can dip to dangerous levels between oil changes. The valve cover is an extremely common place for leaks to happen. Years of exposure to extreme temperature change degrades the gaskets and causes failure. Replace yours to keep your engine oil in your vehicle. This will keep all of your lubrication on your valve train instead of running down your block. Lifters and rockers will stay properly lubricated and your vehicle will not have that hot oil smell. Often difficult to pinpoint, your valve cover gasket is the first place to look when your vehicle starts to leave oil spots.
Trouble trying to track down your leak? The easiest way to do so is by cleaning your engine, then re-examining for leaks.
