Description
If your water pump is starting to fail, you may notice coolant leaks, or even hear a whining or squeaking noise coming from under the hood. If you think your water pump is starting to fail, replace it as soon as you can to avoid creating other problems.
The water pump in your car is driven by the timing belt, and if left alone for too long a broken water pump could cause a lot of damage to your engine. It is also a good idea to replace your timing belt while replacing your water pump and vice versa. When replacing the pump, be sure to also replace the pulley and gaskets.
