Windage Tray

The windage tray, although just a flimsy piece of plastic, serves a very important purpose. When driving aggressively, the oil sitting in the oil pan would slosh around, possibly starving the oil pump catch tube. This is where the windage tray comes into play, as it helps prevent the the oil from sitting to one side or the other and stops the oil from foaming. If your windage tray has broken or gone missing, be sure to replace it and relieve worry next time you floor the gas pedal.
