The fuel pump creates positive pressure in the fuel lines, pushing the gasoline to the engine. The electric fuel pump can deliver more fuel at a higher pressure to help the engine get all of the fuel that it needs. Yet, despite the benefits, there are issues that can arise in these electric pumps. The most common reason fuel pumps fail is a plugged or restricted fuel filter. The fuel pump is forced to work harder in order to keep the fuel pressure within specification. When a fuel pump starts to go bad, you may experience lack of power, no start, bucking, sputtering, or the engine may stop running. If this is occurring be sure to replace it before you are left without a working a vehicle.

*Vehicles currently equipped with original OE part number 8E0919051AL (with two fuel line ports on top of pump) will also require purchase of es436458 in order to block off extra pump port - Please check existing prior to ordering*.
