It saves 22 lbs of unsprung weight from the front of your car while increasing braking performance, they bolt on just like stock! This is a great alternative to a full-on Big Brake Kit since the stock C7 A6-A7 and D4 A8 is a stout 356mm and most may not want to spend $2,000 plus for a full Big Brake Kit. It is also a great alternative to those drag racing who are considering going to a smaller rotor and caliper setup while not losing any braking power. JH Motorsport basically brought the same high-performance great cooling designed rotor to these drop-in (fit like stock) front rotors at a 1/4 of the price or less of a full Big Brake Kit.
CAUTION: To optimize weight reduction in these rotors for peak performance, They've employed a larger rotor hat to minimize the total amount of excess rotor rings. As a consequence, the minimum pad thickness required is 4.5 millimeters before necessitating a brake pad replacement. It's important to note that your brake pad warning indicator may not activate in this scenario. Neglecting to replace your brake pads before reaching this threshold could result in contact between the caliper clip and the rotor hat. Please exercise due diligence in monitoring your brake pad thickness to ensure safe and reliable braking performance. This can be easily done with most wheels by just looking at the clip in relation to the outer edge of the hat.
