SOUL’s Performance Exhaust offers a transformational sound experience by forgoing the factory valve programming and replacing the rear muffler with our bespoke x-pipe design. By routing exhaust from the factory headers into our unique cast cones, through 3″ tubing to our x-pipe and out the 4″ tips, the full complement of sound from the 4.0-liter flat-six is available at any point in the rev range.
With the opportunity to design a no compromises system – from CAD to CNC – we designed a cast cone to transition with the least aggressive radius which allows for peak flow from the large header flange to the muffler section. It was a must for us that the mating flanges and clamping surfaces be fully machined to ensure a perfect seal. That entails not only casting the piece itself but designing and building a fixture for precision final machining. The end result is the smoothest possible exhaust flow, a reduction in welds for durability, and a proper sports car sound.
The GT3’s factory exhaust system caters to tightening emission and sound regulations, with the side effect of deadening the auditory experience. Even with valves open, the factory valve programming tames the excitable nature of the GT3 until 5000 RPM where the flat-six finally sings. Our SOUL Performance Exhaust System removes the secondary valved flow path entirely to deliver the most sensational experience throughout the entire rev range.
This non-valved system replaces the restrictive factory muffler directing flow from the factory headers through our uniquely-designed cast cones, through 3” tubing and into our bespoke x-pipe design before exiting through your choice of 4” tips.
With factory headers and the Performance Exhaust System, emissions requirements will be unaffected and cabin presence will remain reasonable. Early development revealed the presence of resonance/drone between 3400-4000 RPM, prompting the addition of tailored Helmholtz resonators to help smooth out these undesirable frequencies while maximizing the driving experience. The inclusion of Soul's Valve Delete Modules will also ensure that the factory valve exhaust can be removed without prompting a Check Engine Light.
The results are a throatier, robust low-end sound that builds to a reasonably aggressive flat-six wail that these cars are known for, similar in volume to previous 997/991-generation Center Muffler Bypass Pipes. This is a sound experience that will no longer be restricted by factory valved programming, enticing the full complement of motorsport sound from the GT3’s 4.0-liter on demand and throughout the rev range.
CONSTRUCTION: Each system is assembled in the USA out of mandrel bent, thick wall .065″” T304L stainless steel. Our billet 304L stainless steel head flanges and merge collector are precision cut on a 5-axis CNC machine for the best possible exhaust flow and strength. Back purged TIG welding (with ARCAL™ Prime argon gas) ensures proper weld penetration and longevity – crucial for durability on the track. We fabricate the headers and system using thick gauge aluminum fixtures which act as a great heat sink during the welding process and prevent warping not only of our products, but the fixtures themselves to ensure perfect fitment.
